New Year, New Endeavors

As is the story of my life, the fall did not go as I had planned.  I hoped by starting a new blog with new ideas and some hours to myself I would be super productive. Well, I was wrong. It's not the first time. (Silently laughing to myself)

I needed a kick start though. A way to find my path. So I proudly announce my Etsy shop. Little man is going to school four days a week and it's what I need to do. The shop will feature accessories: jewelry, knitted items, little things I can make in a short amount of time. I, of course, will welcome any project though. My brain needs a good workout.

So please support me in this, friends. I'm not posting individual work today because there is too much but as I finish things from here on out I will post photos and of course other pics.

Thanks in advance!

Sketchbook Cover

This week Devin started preschool, so that means every Tuesday and Thursday both kids are at school for three hours. What bliss is the opportunity to work in peace! So I got right to work. Several years ago I was really in the zone. I saw art in everything I did and everywhere I went. In an effort to regain that perspective, I've put together an artist's kit to take with me everywhere including a sketchbook and a camera. But the sketchbook needed a cover, of course.

I found this "recipe" on Pinterest for a Sketchbook Cover and got right to work.

Simple and super easy!

Dishcloths

I love using knit dishcloths. I made myself a few but I needed a few more. I have also found that I can work on these while the little one plays. Here's a link a to my completed dishcloths on my Ravelry account.  I used this pattern Grandmother's Favorite .

So easy to knit up. Unfortunately, they are so easy that I may find myself with an overabundance of them in the near future.

Easy Key Fob

I needed a new key fob. I like these because they are easy to grab and find in your purse.

I found several tutorials on Pinterest but there is really nothing to it.

I start with the same length of canvas strap and ribbon. These are 8 in. You'll also need the end clamp and a split ring. I purchased the special pliers because I figured I would use them. You can also use a pair of regular pliers and a piece of cloth to not scratch the metal.

I sew the two pieces together.

Fold them in half and clamp. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Introduction

Greetings from NC! I am a SAHM of a 9 year old and a 22 month old. My hubby travels for work so we spend a lot of time alone. I love to craft and create. I prefer to DIY then buy something and I almost always cook from scratch.

This is my "clean slate" so to speak. A place of my own to share my daily goings on even though I'm usually buried under toys. Occasionally laundry and dishes. Hence the title, I'm always buried under random stuff, so that's where you'll find me.

Yesterday was the first day of school, my favorite holiday. The little one starts preschool next week. I can't wait for the "me time." Let the fun begin!
